The Great Lakes are losing
2.5 billion gallons of water per day
and there's no end in sight
Where is this water loss coming from?
In 1962, the Army Corps of Engineers dredged out the
St. Clair river channel. Click here to read the full story.
They estimated the lake water level would
only drop 12 inches. That's not what happened. Lake
water levels have dropped an unbelievable 30 inches!!!
This is far more than anyone estimated. And there's no
end in sight! Great Lake water levels are expected to
drop even more! It is estimated that lake water levels
will drop another 4 inches by early 2008.
